Delete / remove cookies in Firefox

In this guide you will get complete instructions on how to remove cookies from Mozilla’s Firefox browser.

Delete all cookies in Firefox

There are 2 ways to delete all cookies in Firefox:

  • Via hotkeys
  • Via the menu in Firefox

In the following we will go through both methods:

Method 1: Hotkeys

  1. Press Ctrl + Shift + Delete on your keyboard
  2. In the window that opens, make sure the
    1. the ‘Remove’ drop-down menu is set to All my history
    2. only cookies are selected (marked with a checkmark). If you also want to clear your cache, search history, browsing history, etc. this can be done by unchecking the relevant boxes with checkmarks (some of the boxes are probably checked beforehand)
    3. clicking the Clear now button at the bottom of the menu

The window will automatically close and all your cookies are now deleted from Firefox!

 

Method 2: The menu in Firefox

  1. 1. click the Firefox button in the top left corner
    1. Then hover your mouse over the History menu item (without clicking on it)
    2. Then click on the Clear recent history menu item
  2. 2. in the window that pops up, make sure that
    1. the ‘Remove’ drop-down menu is set to All my history
    2. only cookies are selected (with a checkmark). If you also want to clear your cache, browser history, etc. this can be done by unchecking the respective boxes with checkmarks (some of the boxes are probably already checked)
    3. clicking the Clear now button

The window will automatically close and all your cookies are now removed from the Firefox browser!

 

Remove single cookies in Firefox

If you only want to remove single cookies in Firefox, this can be done by following the steps below:

  1. Click the Firefox button in the top left corner of the browser. Then click on the menu item Options
  2. Select Use customized history settings in the drop-down menu ‘Firefox will:’
  3. Click the Show cookies button. The window will close automatically
  4. The ‘Cookies’ window opens automatically. Here you need to:
    1. Type the name of the website whose cookies you want to remove in the search field. The relevant cookies will appear in the list below the search field
    2. Select the cookies you want to delete (in the example, 2 cookies from google.ch are selected). To delete all cookies in the list, click the Remove all cookies button (next to the ‘Remove cookies’ button)
    3. Click the Remove cookies button to delete them
  5. Click the Close button in the bottom right corner of the ‘Cookie’ window to close it

The desired cookies are now deleted from the Firefox browser!
