To find out which version of Windows is installed on your computer, you can do the following:
- Click the Start button in the bottom left corner of the screen
- Type winver in the search bar at the bottom of the start menu
- Press enter (return)
- A pop-up will now appear with information about
- Which version of Windows you have
- Who is the licensee of the Windows installation
This is the quickest and simplest way to find your version of Windows (see the illustration below).
32 or 64-bit?
If you also want to know if you have a 32-bit or 64-bit version of Windows, the easiest way is to do the following:
- Click the Start button in the bottom left corner of the screen
- Type version in the search bar at the bottom of the start menu
- Click on the search result Show which operating system is running on your computer
After clicking Show what operating system is running on your computer, this pop-up will appear with information about your Windows version and whether it is 32 or 64-bit:
